The week I felt worthless…

and why I’m still showing up.

There are weeks where everything feels like too much.

This was one of those weeks for me.

I was sick. Completely drained.
No energy to do the things I normally handle without thinking.

And in that quiet, frustrating space… a thought crept in:

“You’re not doing enough.”
“You’re falling behind.”
“You’re letting people down.”

If you’ve ever had thoughts like that, you know how heavy they can feel.

But in the middle of that, my husband said something simple—and it stopped me:

You are not worthless.
And you are not superhuman.

We live in this space where we expect ourselves to carry everything… perfectly.

And when we can’t, we turn on ourselves.

But the truth is—being human means there will be seasons where we slow down.
Where we don’t show up at full capacity.
Where rest isn’t optional… it’s necessary.

And that doesn’t take away your value.

If anything, it reminds you that you’re human.

And maybe that’s something you needed to hear today too.

Now, in the middle of all of this…

I’m still showing up.

I was a part of the Global Grief Conference—a 3-day live-streamed event filled with conversations around grief, healing, and what it means to move forward when life doesn’t look the way we expected.

Not because I feel perfectly prepared.
Not because I have everything together.

But because sometimes showing up imperfectly still matters.

If you’ve been feeling behind, overwhelmed, or not enough lately…

You’re not alone.

Not even close.

With hope and encouragement,
